1. Do I really need a website?
There are many reasons why you should think about having a website. Having your own personal website creates 24/7 awareness for your company, internationally. It also gives you the options of doing business online, e-mailing and receiving information. A well developed website improves communication between you, your clients and your employees. Giving you a competitive advantage over your competition.
2. Do my customers use the internet?
Research proves that over 75% of all Americans use or have access to the internet on a regular basis. Which means that on any given day you can have about 227,000,000 people of any age on your website. Most of which are potential customers.
3. What if I'm not satisfied with your design?
I will work with you until we have the look you originally envisioned. I try to adhere to my time-tested and proven design principles. Insuring that your website is as easy to use and successful as possible.
4. How long does it take to create a website?
The answer to this depends on every project and the needs of the client. The design may take anywhere from 3 to 4 weeks. Depending on the type of website the time to develop it may vary greatly. Database driven websites can take up to 2-3 months depending on how complex your website need to be.
5. How important are search engines? Do I really need a good ranking in a search engine?
Search engines are important because they are the yellow pages of the internet. A good ranking helps bring in business internationally. Customers from around the world searching for exactly what you offer. The better the ranking, the better your chances are of being seen.
6. Do flash movies effect my search engine rankings?
To a certain extent, yes. Most search engines can not read the content inside a flash movie. If you have no content, your not going to be ranked well. I try to use flash to enhance a few of the visual elements of the website.
7. Why can't I find my website in the search engine?
Search engines send what is called spiders to crawl through your website and retrieve all of the information in it's pages. It can take up to several weeks before your website is crawled and indexed on most of the major search engines.
8. How frequently do I need to update my website?
This depends on you and your type of website. You may need to update your website often to reflect the amount of items left in your inventory, or add another email to your account.
9. I have heard that my website can be a place to help my employees do their jobs, is this true?
A lot of people don't know that websites can be used to help improve the workflow and communication within an organization while reducing expenses. It is possible for all business types to place business processes online, especially those done daily.
10. What is a domain name?
A distinct name that identifies each website on the internet. Think of it as a street address for your place on the internet where your customers can find you. Short and easy to remember names, if available, are best. The most common domain name extensions are usually .com, .org and .net.
11. What is web hosting?
The world wide web is a huge collection of websites. Web hosting provides space on internet servers for the storage of the sites. This makes it accessible by others through the network. Web hosts are companies that provide the space on the server they own for their clients to use.
12. What is site maintenance?
Once your website is online, you may frequently need it updated. Updates can include a change in address, new or out of stock products, schedule updates or whatever your company may need. Design/Re-Design and the adding of new sections is not considered maintenance.
13. I need something created very quickly, can you do it?
Usually I am able to accommodate rush jobs depending on how full my production schedule is. In all fairness to the other clients, if a job already in production is interrupted by a rush job, I reserve the right to add an additional 50%-100% rush fee on top of the normal prices.
